Myth-A-Con

We want to help build the community in Calgary. As such we have began to host an Event Called Myth-a-Con. This is a Role-Playing and Miniatures games convention held at the Calgary Marlbourough Community Association. It runs on the Labor Day long weekend and features: WarMachine/Hordes, Warhammer Fantasy, 40k, D&D, Pathfinder, ShadowRun and more!

Hours of Operations

Sunday: 11:00am-6:00pm

Monday-Thursday: 12:00-8:00

Friday: 12:00pm -9:00pm

Saturday: 10:00am- 6:00pm

Our closing times are more a "guideline" then set in stone. Depending on what event is running we are open until the players leave!

Overheard in a Game Store

Recently we started up a blog about stuff going on in the store. From modelling and terrain building to event recaps and product information. We will be trying to update it about two to four times per month.

About Us

In the Beginning:

Cory has been playing RPGs and other games for 20+ years. Waaaaaay back in highschool he knew that one day he would love to open his own game store. Some 15+ years later, that dream came true with the help of family and friends!

In 2007 Cory was able to get the funding together to open Myth Games. It's been a fantastic journey so far and more is to come.

Currently:

2011 has been another banner year for the store. We continue to grow and bring the community with us. We have several leagues, clubs and events that keeps the store open late into the evenings. We pioneered Midnight pre-release parties and have grown into helping organize a yearly game convention,

Where we're going:

We are always looking for room to expand and grow the community. 2012 sees the store contiue to expand its product selection and is working hard to bring unique events to cater to the Calgary Gaming Community.

Of Lords and Minions

	The Lord High Mucky Muck: Cory has been playing D&D and other RPGs, Minis and board games for over 20 years (being kind not to reveal his age cough 39). Back in high school, he learned that running a business is not to be entered lightly. He spent several years working in many fields of interest before going to SAIT and graduating with a Degree in Business Management. Several years of management experience, with Cineplex Odeon and Coles Books gave him the confidence to go forward with his dream: opening a game store! After several friends and family helped get the finances in order, 2007 was the year to open the game store Myth Games. "It has been a helluva ride so far and I cannot wait to see what next year brings."
	Minion A: Good afternoon, and welcome to Myth Games! I will be your minion today! Minion A's foray into nerdiness began around seven years ago when she was introduced to D&D. Since then, there's really been no turning back. When she's not at home playing MMOs, she's probably playing Magic: The Gathering, various pen-and-paper RPGs, reading fantasy novels, or trying not to buy ALL THE PRETTY DICE.
	Minion C: (AKA: Chelsea) Has enjoyed playing Magic the Gathering for over two years, and still occationally plays Yu-Gi-Oh. She has been an avid gamer girl (has been seen playing Pathfinder, D&D, Scion, BESM, etc...) since 2005, and enjoys playing almost any genre of video games, though RPG seems to be a favorite. As a side note, she has also attended the Art Institute of Vancouver for 3D Modeling and Animation, and is only one course away.
	Minion D: (AKA Nero) Most advanced of ALL the minions as noted by his D classification, has been involved in gaming ever since his idiot brother showed him original dungeons and dragons whilst still in his(minion D's) larval state. He has played, gm'd, and changed rules for most every popular game out there. Cause of course he knows better. Guilty pleasure- Vampire larp'er
